Park Rapids health expo is Saturday

The Park Rapids Community Education and Housing Redevelopment Authority of Park Rapids hosts the 2010 Energy Fair & Health Expo .

The event is free and will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Park Rapids Century School.

This year, by focusing on energy and health, there will be over 40 exhibitors, participation in workshops, plus, learn about renewable energy, the environment, health and how they all work together.

There will be 15 educational and entertaining Listen & Learn sessions during the day. These presentations will include (but are not limited to) energy topics such as Geothermal 101, Renewable Energy 101, and Emerging Energy Technologies for Home & Business.

Some of the health related talks include Making Healthy Choices with Local Foods, Creating Optimal Health in Children and Maintaining a Healthy Brain. Brita Sailer will share "Energy, It's Not Just for Power Anymore," which focuses on both health & energy.

Attendees of the 2010 event will have the opportunity to gather information and discover resources that may help boost their health and reduce their energy costs by way of no cost-low cost weatherization materials and improvements, tax incentives, rebates and affordable finance options.

The Mahube Community Council and Hubbard County Master Gardeners are offering a Kids Corner with fun activities for students. Concessions will be available throughout the day and door prizes will be drawn at 2:45 p.m.
