A Park Rapids man has been charged in Becker County District Court with one felony count of fifth degree drug possession.
Michael Nicholas Thelen Jr., 39, of 37075 County Road 127, Park Rapids, was charged as the result of a Nov. 16 incident in which a search warrant was executed at his home in rural Becker County.
Thelen was taken into custody, and during a pat-down search, a plastic baggie and a paper bindle were found on him, both containing a white powder that later tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers also found three syringes, a prescription bottle and a clear plastic straw containing a white powder residue.
Thelen is currently in custody at the Becker County Jail awaiting his next court appearance, at a Dec. 10 omnibus hearing. His bail has been set at $600 cash or $2,000 bond, with conditions, or $8,000 without conditions.
