A Wadena man was seriously injured after being hit by a van while crossing the street Wednesday afternoon.
Raymond C. Meinhardt, 78, of Wadena was taken to a hospital in St. Cloud with serious injuries, according to the State Patrol.
He was struck by a 2008 Chevy Express van, driven by Gary R. Lehnhoff, 61, of Sebeka, who was not injured.
The van was westbound on Colfax Avenue S.E. and stopped for a red light at the Highway 71 intersection.
The van then made a right turn and struck Meinhardt, who was walking southbound in the crosswalk.

The accident occurred about 2 p.m. on dry pavement. The Wadena Police Department assisted at the scene.
