The Pelican Rapids School Board has hired a new superintendent.
Deborah Wanek, who is now superintendent of Henning Public Schools, will start in Pelican Rapids July 1, said Steve Strand, Pelican Rapids School Board chairman.
The School Board decided to hire her on April 9th.
The Pelican Rapids community was left with unanswered questions last fall when the board accepted a letter of retirement effective June 30 from current Superintendent Kent Baldry.
At the same time, the board changed Baldry's duties for the 2006-07 school year and he was not to work from the district office.

The School Board said the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act prevented it from providing the public with further information.
Breckenridge School District Superintendent David Pace will become the new East Grand Forks School District Superintendent on July 1.
Current East Grand Forks Superintendent Walt Aanenson will retire at the end of June.
