A common phone scam that had occurred in the past is resurfacing, the Becker County Sheriff's Office reported.
This phone scam is in regards to helping a grandchild that has been arrested and is in need of assistance with bail money.
Becker County residents who experience this scam are asked to send money, usually thousands of dollars, via Western Union to some location across the country.
The sheriff's office is asking the community to be aware of such scam.
This scam seems to resurface every six months to a year, Sheriff Tim Gordon said.
