FERGUS FALLS, Minn. - A 22-year-old woman here is facing multiple charges after police say she stole a squad car and led officers on a chase through town, according to a WDAY news report.

Police arrested Naveena Pearl Badmoccasin on Saturday afternoon, and now she's facing charges of assault, fleeing, theft, criminal vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol, WDAY said.

After the chase, she reportedly laughed and told her arresting officer that she was practicing for her driver's test, WDAY reports.

According to the report, police were interviewing Badmoccasin because they believe she was involved in an assault, and they were also taking her to detox. Her blood alcohol content was at .20, over twice the legal limit.

When the officer left her alone in the squad car, she shimmied through the backseat divider and began to drive away, WDAY said. The officer tried to jump into the backseat, but he was thrown from the car. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Badmoccasin then led officers on a chase through town, reaching speeds up to 50 mph, until she struck a curb and stopped, WDAY reported.
