Police & sheriff news: Sexual misconduct reported in Callaway

The following items were taken from incident reports at the Becker County Sheriff’s Office and the Detroit Lakes Police Department:

  • At 3:14 a.m. on June 9, a sexual misconduct call was received from the 23000 block of 310th Street, Callaway. The incident involved an older man and a female, and it was recorded. White Earth police are handling the case.
  • At 8:29 a.m. on June 9, a caller from the 25000 block of Brandy Lake Boulevard, rural Detroit Lakes, reported that a neighbor’s residence had been broken into and vandalized, perhaps by a previous renter, with electrical wiring cut and drywall pulled off walls, among other damage.
  • At 12:03 p.m. on June 9, a theft was reported at Lake Park Lutheran Church, with a possible suspect. The church will email a list of missing items to law enforcement.
  • At 4:16 p.m. on June 9, a car fire was reported on the 100 block of South Lake Street, Frazee. A mice nest caught fire in the engine of a gray Ford Escape.
  • At 2:52 p.m. on June 10, a vehicle was recovered on County Road 158, Waubun. The 2011 Toyota Tundra double cab is owned by a Fargo resident and was stolen in Otter Tail County.
  • At 8:19 p.m. on June 10, a caller from the 1200 block of Eighth Street Southeast, Detroit Lakes, reported the theft of a Mini Quad ATV, designed for use by young people. The caller wasn’t sure when it had been taken.
  • At 10:02 a.m. on June 11, a break-in was reported at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frazee. Entry was gained through a window. Nothing appeared to be missing.
  • At 10:44 a.m. on June 11, a natural gas leak was reported at County Road 6 and County Road 11, Audubon. The gas company was able to seal the leak before emergency responders arrived.
  • At 1:05 p.m. on June 11, a fire was reported on the 14000 block of County Road 1, Lake Park. An electrical fire inside the walls was causing smoke from an electrical box. Firefighters were on the scene just over two hours.
  • At 2:47 p.m. on June 11, a man on the 300 block of Second Street, Audubon, reported that another man had stolen his Hydrocodone pain pills.
  • At 7:30 p.m. on June 11, a drug overdose was reported on the 40000 block of LaDoux Road. The victim admitted taking drugs and was taken to Essentia St. Mary's Hospital for treatment.
  • At 7:50 p.m. on June 11, a caller from the 1200 block of Eighth Street Southeast, Detroit Lakes, reported the theft of a car battery, taken from inside a boat.
  • At 8:31 p.m. on June 11, a drug overdose was reported on the 28000 block of Waboose Drive, Ponsford. Narcan (an opioid overdose reversal medicine) was delivered by the caller, and the woman recovered and left the scene before emergency responders arrived.
