District Judge Paul Rasmussen heard the following individual in Hubbard County District Court April 5.
Derek Wayne Greenfeather, 23, of Ponsford appeared on charges of fifth degree controlled substance crime and giving a peace officer a false name.
According to the complaint, a Park Rapids police officer initiated a traffic stop April 4. There were three males in the vehicle and the officer smelled an odor of marijuana coming from inside. Greenfeather gave the officer his brother's name and date of birth, but one of the passengers identified him.
At the Hubbard County Law Enforcement Center, a jailer located two plastic bags containing marijuana in the bottom of Greenfeather's right sock. The marijuana weighed 44 grams.
The felony drug charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in jail and/or a $10,000 fine. The gross misdemeanor charge carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail and/or a $3,000 fine.
