Daniel Van Warren, 30, of Box 96AA, 49238 280th St., Ponsford, has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony domestic abuse and felony violation of a domestic abuse no-contact order.
According to court records:
On Dec. 27 tribal police officers were dispatched to the New Projects in Pine point on the report of a possible domestic assault.
Two officers eventually spoke to a woman who had a swollen upper lip. She said her domestic partner had hit her after he begin insulting her while they were drinking at their home with friends. The two started pushing and then Warren allegedly started punching her. Several of their children were home at the time, and one allegedly told officers that "mom and dad were fighting."
Warren has a pending domestic assault charge involving the same woman. Jury trial had been set for Tuesday in that case.

On Wednesday, he failed to obey a summons to appear in court on the new charge, and an arrest warrant was issued by District Judge Lisa Borgen.
