A Detroit Lakes man was sentenced in Becker County District Court on a felony charge Wednesday.
District Judge John Pearson stayed execution of a 12-month prison sentence against Larry Johnson, 43, of 1220 8th Street Southeast, for check forgery.
Johnson must serve six months in jail with credit for time served, was fined $647, must make restitution of $1,492.90, and will be on supervised probation for up to five years.
Johnson was charged with issuing a number of forged checks on another man's bank account in June 2005, exceeding $250. Pearson dismissed a second felony check forgery charge against Johnson.
