A Menahga man was sentenced Wednesday on four felony counts of receiving stolen property.

Bobby James Anttila, 63, of 56346 145th St., Menahga, was convicted on four of 18 counts by District Court Judge Peter Irvine, while the remaining 14 counts were dismissed.

Irvine stayed imposition of a prison sentence against Anttila and ordered him to serve five years of supervised probation as well as 120 days in jail. He was also fined $582 and ordered to pay $152,177 in restitution.

If Anttila successfully completes all the terms of his probation, the charges will be reduced to a misdemeanor conviction on his record.

Anttila was initially charged in April 2006, after selling 15 skid steer loaders to Darwin's Equipment in Wadena which were later identified as being stolen.

He also reportedly sold two more stolen skid steer loaders to private individuals, and was in possession of another. The 18 stolen vehicles identified in the complaint had an estimated value of $274,500.
