The reward has been raised for information leading to the arrest of the snowmobiler who hit and killed a dog last Monday on Pelican Lake in Minnesota.
James Larson of Pelican Lake, whose 20-month-old Lab/golden retriever, Rosie, was killed while playing outside, said he has received an incredible outpouring of support from people who love animals and snowmobilers who are upset by what happened.
Larson was offering a $1,000 reward for information, but he has since received donations from others and has raised the reward to $1,860.
Larson said around 4:40 p.m. last Monday three snowmobiles on Pelican Lake drove by at a high rate of speed. The first two sleds almost hit the 60-pound dog. The third did. None of the snowmobilers stopped, Larson said.
If the reward is not claimed, he plans to donate the money to the Humane Society.

"I'm pretty amazed at the responses I've received over the weekend," Larson said. "I'm really learning about this community."
Larson said he has received offers of four dogs, but he is not quite ready for another dog.
