ROCHESTER - A 91-year-old woman who apparently wandered from her home was found dead this morning outside a house in southeast Rochester.
Marie Schinke was last seen by family members at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in her home. When family checked on her Wednesday morning, she wasn't home, although her coat and purse were there, according to the Rochester Post Bulletin website.
Her body was found by a family member as part of a group search about 11 a.m. behind another home, said Rochester police Capt. John Sherwin.
Though the investigation is ongoing, "it just appears to be a tragedy," with no indication of foul play, Sherwin said.
Schinke had a history of wandering from home, according to police.
