Snowmobile traffic signs have been disappearing.
Unknown individuals are continuously stealing signs that mark the trails, according to Ryan Weum, member of the Becker County Trails Advisory Board and the Ultra Snowmobile Club.
"It's been happening for quite a few years," he said, and every year the club helps replace the signs which is costly to the county.
The fine for sign theft is $750, he said.
It's important to have signs marking the trails for visitors who may not be familiar with the area, Weum added, it's a safety issue.
