Otter Tail Power Company reminds outdoor enthusiasts to use caution in areas where last November's storm left electrical line debris frozen, and probably covered with snow, in road ditches.
Snowmobilers and ATV riders need to be aware of the possibility of these hazards in public rights-of-way and, better yet, to avoid these storm damage areas. Please talk to your kids about the dangers and to your neighbors, relatives, and friends.
"Riders really need to be alert in areas affected by the storm," says Otter Tail Power Company's Manager of Safety Services Steve Wevley. "We don't want anyone to become entangled in a downed conductor or to be stopped short by a broken crossarm or pole while snowmobiling. I can't emphasize enough the potential for damage or injury."
