State Auditor Rebecca Otto will be the headliner at the Becker County DFL fall fundraiser Oct. 2.

“The Becker County DFL is excited and honored to have State Auditor Rebecca Otto as our special guest and keynote speaker at our fall fundraiser,” said Becker County DFL Chairman Mike Wammer. “Auditor Otto served in the Minnesota House of Representatives with our Rep. Paul Marquart 10 years ago. And we’re proud to say that Paul will be introducing Rebecca at our event which will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2, at the El Loro.”

After defeating her primary opponents by garnering an overwhelming 80 percent of the vote, Otto is ready to take on her general election opponent and she is ready to campaign for the entire DFL ticket. DFLers can expect a rousing stump speech from the fiery campaigner.

El Loro is located at 720 West Lake Drive and the event will kick off at 6 p.m. There is a $25 minimum suggested donation per person, which includes an all-you-eat “taco bar.” A cash bar will be available.

Other DFL elected officials who were invited but are uncommitted at press time include: U.S. Rep. Collin Peterson, State Sens. Kent Eken (Sen. District 4) and Rod Skoe (Sen. District 2) as well as David Sobieski who is running for state representative in State House District 2B.

“It will be a nice event with ample opportunity for DFLers to get fired up, enjoy some good food, and meet with some of our DFL elected officials,” Wammer said. “The DFL is proud of the progress we have made. With accomplished leaders like U.S. Sen. Al Franken and Gov. Mark Dayton at the top of the ticket, a common sense known achiever like Congressman Peterson working for us in the U.S. House, accessible local representation from Eken, Skoe and Marquart-and a great candidate like David Sobieski willing to serve in HD 2B -we look forward to standing by our DFL record and another great year for the DFL!”
