Lake Park-Audubon Family Career and Community Leaders of America's Britny Hamblin, Ashley Anderson and Angie Wavra have been working with the LP-A fourth grade elementary students in an Adopt a Grandparent program at the Sunnyside Nursing home, rural Lake Park.

Twenty residents of the local nursing home have been partnered with two or three fourth graders in hopes of bridging the generations together in a common sharing environment.

The fourth graders began their lessons in November be being assigned a nursing home resident, learning about their resident, making picture ornaments for Christmas and by reading and visiting with their "grandparents" in January.

Plans in February include a special Valentine project for their grandparents.

The FCCLA would like to thank the fourth grade teachers and staff at the nursing home for their help and cooperation in making these projects a reality.
