Six Detroit Lakes Middle School band students recently performed in the Northwest Regional Grades 6-8 Honor Band.
The event was hosted at Fergus Falls Secondary School on Saturday, Jan. 15.
The Detroit Lakes 8th grade Middle School Band students who rehearsed and performed with the ensemble were: Trina Bjorgan, flute, Ryan Wendt, clarinet, Benjamin Tjepkes, alto sax, Cade Benson, euphonium, and Corbin Duncan and Tanner Schnathorst on percussion.
The students were selected from hundreds of nominations from numerous middle school band programs in greater northwest Minnesota. The 90-piece band was under the capable direction of guest conductor/clinician Scott Jones from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota.
The day consisted of several rehearsals in preparation of the Grand Concert in the evening.
