Sun dogs over Little Detroit
Sharp Sun Dogs appeared over Little Detroit Lake Tuesday morning as temperatures stayed well below zero with the wind blowing 20 to 30 m.p.h. Sun dogs are a refraction of the sun's light through ice and snow particles in the Earth's atmosphere. The sun dogs remained around the sun all day long, forming a full circle later in the afternoon.
