A husband and wife escaped serious injury when their sport utility vehicle was side-swiped and rolled Thursday night in Norman County, the Minnesota State Patrol said.
Eunhye Kang, 21, of Crookston, was driving northbound on State Highway 9 north of Ada about 11:30 p.m. when he fell asleep, the patrol said in a news release.
The 2005 Toyota he was driving crossed the centerline and sideswiped a 2001 Ford Explorer driven by Douglas Rude, 56, of Grand Marais. The SUV rolled and came to rest on its passenger side in the roadway.
Rude and his wife and passenger, Nancy Rude, 51, were treated for non-serious injuries and released from Bridges Medical Center in Ada, the patrol said. Both were wearing their seat belts.
The Toyota went into the ditch. Kang was not injured, the patrol said.
