Swing Jazz Trio coming to New York Mills

On Saturday, April 14 at 8 p.m., Sam Miltich and the "Clearwater Hot Club" jazz trio will be performing at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center.

On Saturday, April 14 at 8 p.m., Sam Miltich and the "Clearwater Hot Club" jazz trio will be performing at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center.

This talented group performs swing jazz music in the style of the great jazz guitarist, Django Reinhardt.

They have performed in many parts of the United States, Canada and as far away as Japan.

Guitarist Sam Miltch has performed with the Robin Nolan Trio in Europe, at the Lincoln Center in New York and toured extensively with the Hot Club of San Francisco.

Hailing from Grand Rapids, Minn., this lively group has been in great demand, creating enthusiasm wherever they go.

A pre-concert dinner will be available at the Creamery from 6 to 7:30 p.m., featuring jazzy food items not ordinarily offered in the area.

No reservations are necessary. Tickets for this event are $10 for members, $12 for non-members and $5 for students.

This event is sponsored by All Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning, All Seasons U-Rent Center, Susan Thompson and Trisha McCarthy.

Also on Saturday, April 14, the NYMRCC will host an artist reception for students in grades 4 through 6 from area schools.

The reception will take place from 10 a.m. to noon. The students' artwork will be on exhibit from April 10-21.

All area schools were invited to submit 2-3 pieces of artwork from each class. The "Peoples Choice" votes, from show attendees, will result in cash prizes for the top three winners.

The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center's annual meeting for members and supporters will be held Tuesday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. The regular monthly board meeting will immediately follow.
