Sylvia E. Dahlgren, 89, of Lake Park, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes.
Sylvia was born to Ted and Johana (Koplau) Wheelright on Feb. 3, 1918, in Sabin, Minn. She grew up and attended school in Barnesville, Minn., graduating from Barnesville High School. Sylvia married Lawrence S. Dahlgren on June 20, 1942, in Luverne, Minn. Following their marriage, they farmed near Adams, N.D., and in 1949 moved to the Lake Ida area, south of Lake Park, where they farmed. Lawrence died Oct. 3, 1990.
Sylvia was an active member of Cormorant Lutheran Church and St. Paul's Free Lutheran Church in Fargo for many years. She was very active in volunteer work and loved gardening and fishing.
Surviving Sylvia are her two sons, Michael (Mavis) Dahlgren of Jamestown, N.D., and David Dahlgren of Fargo; two daughters, Mary (Gary) Regelstad of Cormorant and Julie (Tom) Fugleberg of Roseau, Minn.; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Lawrence, Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Ruth Cornell of Grants Pass, Ore.; two brothers, Arthur Wheelright of Hawley and Loren Wheelright of Barnesville; and her daughter, Donna.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Faith Free Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes. There will be visitation for one hour prior to the start of services. Interment will be in Vang Lutheran Cemetery, rural Adams, N.D.
