Teen girl injured in collision with Frazee woman on Highway 71

A Bertha girl was injured after turning in front of a vehicle driven by a Frazee woman on Highway 71 in Wadena on Friday.

     According to the State Patrol, Caitlyn McKnight, 16, of Bertha suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.

     The other driver, Clarissa Dumdei, 29, of Frazee suffered no apparent injuries.

      According to the State Patrol, Dumdei was southbound on Highway 71 in a 2011 Chevy Traverse.

     McKnight was northbound on Highway 71 in a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero.

     The Chevy hit the Oldsmobile broadside as McKnight was making a left turn onto Juniper Street N.W.

     The accident was reported at 4 p.m. on dry two-lane blacktop. The Wadena Police Department assisted at the scene.
