Three out-of-town men have been charged in Becker County District Court with felony theft of property/services valued from $500 to $2,500.

They are:

  • Dustin William Brockopp, 18, of 212 S. Otter Ave., Parkers Prairie.
  • Jason Michael Elgin, 20, of 306 Eighth Ave. E., Alexandria.
  • Troy Mark Howe, 19, of 306 Eighth Ave. E., Alexandria.

They are accused of being part of a group of five people, including a motel housekeeper, who entered several rooms at the Lodge on Lake Detroit through unlocked patio doors on the evening of Feb. 18.
They stayed for about three hours, leaving the rooms in disarray and allegedly taking two Proton 32-inch plasma screen TV sets, along with wall brackets. The TVs were later recovered, according to court records. The other two people involved were apparently minors and were identified in court records only by initials.

The three men who were charged in the incident are scheduled for their first court appearance April 16 before District Judge Wayne Farnberg.
