Three serious injury-accidents were reported in the area over the weekend.

According to the State Patrol:

An Osage man was seriously hurt in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and pickup truck on Highway 34 Sunday afternoon.

Robert Vigesaa, 48, was traveling westbound on a motorcycle on Highway 34 near Height of Land Drive when an eastbound pickup driven by Donald LaPort, 58, of Twin Valley slowed and turned northbound on to east Height of Land Drive in front of the motorcycle.

Vigesaa was thrown from his motorcycle and landed in a ditch. He was airlifted to a Fargo hospital with serious injuries. There were five passengers, including the driver, in the pickup.

One of the passengers, John LaPort, 73, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was injured.

The accident was reported about 1:45 p.m. Sunday. The Becker County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.

On Sunday morning, a Bloomington woman was seriously injured in a fiery rollover east of Waubun.

Megan Mails, 19, was eastbound on Highway 113 east of Waubun just before 10 a.m. when the Chevrolet Blazer she was driving left the roadway on the right, over corrected, rolled and caught fire.

Mails was taken to the Mahnomen Hospital with serious injuries. She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The Mahnomen County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.

On Saturday afternoon, a Park Rapids man was seriously injured after his car left the road on Highway 87 in Becker County.

Aloyus Anfinson, 79, sustained serious injuries after the vehicle he was driving swerved to miss another vehicle that had attempted to make a U-turn on the highway.

The U-turn vehicle driven by Lori Hanson, 40, of Park Rapids struck Anfinson's vehicle, causing it to go into the ditch and hit a building.

Anfinson was taken to Hennipen County Medical Center.

Hanson and the three passengers in her vehicle were not hurt. The accident happened just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Becker County Sheriff's office assisted at the scene. The accident is under investigation.
