Motorists on Highway 113 east of Waubun should be prepared for intermittent lane closures-a tree removal project started Monday and is expected to last about four weeks.

Crews will remove trees in eight different locations on the north and south side of the highway between milepost 22 near McCraney Lake and milepost 41 near the junction of Becker County Highway 37 and Clearwater County Highway 39.

The safety project will reduce shading on the highway, which will help reduce ice buildup in the winter. All the trees are located within the state highway right of way.

Carr's Tree Service of Ottertail will perform the work. The contractor will be responsible for cutting, removing and disposing of the trees.
