Two guns stolen from Becker County

Mark Thomas Mastin, 42, and Paula Ann Lockrem, 32, were arraigned Monday on drug charges for possessing a large quantity of methamphetamines.

According to sheriff Gary Mills, after a two-month investigation law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at 14567 CSAH 6, south of Park Rapids, about 10 p.m. Thursday.

Mills said the search produced approximately 34 grams of methamphetamines, approximately three ounces of marijuana, more than $500 in cash and several items of drug-related paraphernalia.

In addition, officers found 13 firearms in the residence. Two of the firearms were reported stolen in Becker County.

Mastin and Lockrem, also known as Paula Ann Heinzen, were arrested at the residence and transported to jail, pending charges.

Both are charged with first degree controlled substance crime. Mastin also is charged with fifth degree controlled substance crime and possession of stolen property.

Judge John Roue set bail for Mastin at $100,000. Both Mastin and Lockrem are scheduled for another court appearance at 1 p.m. April 2.

The first degree drug charge carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in jail and/or a $1 million fine.

The fifth degree drug charge and charge of possession of stolen property each carry a maximum penalty of five years in jail and/or a $10,000 fine. -- Park Rapids Enterprise
