Two hurt in collision on Highway 34 near Detroit Lakes

Both drivers were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 34 in Becker Country just before midnight on Tuesday.

Joseph Adam Crowell, 30, of Ponsford and Cassandra Kay Boll, 26, of Richville both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.

According to the State Patrol, Crowell was travelling west on Highway 34 near mile marker 41 in a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Boll was eastbound on Highway 34 in a 2012 Nissan Altima. The Grand Caravan crossed the center line and collided with the Altima in the eastbound lane of traffic.

The crash was reported on dry pavement at 11:51 p.m. in Erie Township. Airbags deployed in both vehicles and both drivers were wearing seatbelts. No alcohol was involved, according to the State Patrol.

The Becker County Sheriff's Office, Detroit Lakes Police Department, and St Mary's EMS assisted at the scene.
