One man was killed and two people were injured early Sunday when their vehicle they were riding in ran off the road and hit a tree near Osage.
The Minnesota State Patrol identified the passenger killed in the accident as Grant Harvala, 22, of Park Rapids.
Andrew Medved, 19, of Park Rapids, who was driving the 2000 Ford Focus, was taken to MeritCare Hospital with injuries that were considered serious but not life-threatening.
Timothy Maher, 18, of Osakis, Minn., was taken to St. Joseph's Area Health Services in Park Rapids for injuries also considered serious but not life-threatening. He was not listed as a patient at the hospital as of 8 p.m. Sunday.
The accident was reported at 3:48 a.m. Sunday on Highway 34 between Osage and Park Rapids in Becker County. All three men were not wearing their seat belts, and conditions on the blacktop road were dry, the State Patrol said.
