Maggie Holmer, Osage, and Tana Vareberg, Detroit Lakes, have been named the Minnesota State Community and Technical College's Business Division Students of the Month for January.

Holmer and Vareberg will complete their legal administrative assistant A.A.S. degrees this May.

According to their advisor, Pam Cummings, "Maggie and Tana are great examples of how success can be achieved through hard work and persistence. They find time to volunteer for extra activities while maintaining a GPA high enough to consistently be on the Dean's List."

Both fund their education through work-study employment at the school. In addition to their studies and work, they are involved in school and community activities.

Holmer has volunteered at the Park Rapids Sheriff's Department, Park Rapids Community Education and helped Roy Smith in setting up a database for his Christmas Gift trip to Mississippi.
