Vernon Turner, 86, of Detroit Lakes, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Golden Manor in Detroit Lakes.
Vernon Turner was born to George and Eva (Morrison Stuart) Turner on May 29, 1920 in rural Ridgeville, Manitoba, Canada.
Surviving Vernon are his daughter, Rae (Ronald) Windloss of Detroit Lakes; two sons, Calvin (Carol) Turner of Eveleth, Minn., and Lorne (Linda) Turner of Bellavista, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters; and five brothers. Preceding him in death was his wife, Margaret, in December 2006.
Services will be held at a later date. The David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes is assisting the family with arrangements.

Vernon's family prefers that memorials be sent to the Detroit Lakes Curling Club.
