Students and staff and Detroit Lakes Middle School celebrated Friday afternoon, after students not only scored well on their state standardized tests last spring, but also gave what Principal Mike Sukert called "the best start to the year" he's had in 11 years. Each class worked on floats for a parade, which they held for the younger students at Roosevelt Elementary, before spending the afternoon playing games and celebrating their accomplishments.
