The White Earth primary election is Tuesday, April 1, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Community members can keep track of the results Tuesday evening at the Golden Eagle Bingo Hall in Mahnomen.

The following positions are open for four-year terms: chairperson and district III representative, (covers the areas of White Earth, Pine Point, Callaway, Ogema, and Elbow Lake.)

The White Earth Reservation Tribal Council certified the following individuals to run for office.

The top two candidates in each position that receive the most votes will move on to the general election on Tuesday, June 10.

However, if a candidate receives more than 50 percent of the votes, they will be officially elected to that position and will not have to run in the general election.
