A Wadena man was sentenced Monday in Becker County District Court on a third degree assault charge.
Derek Conway McClure, 20, of 30346 County Highway 75, Wadena, was ordered to serve 15 months in prison, stayed on conditions including five years of supervised probation, 68 days in jail and payment of $1,090 in court fines, plus an additional $13,983 in restitution.
The charges stemmed from a July 6, 2009 incident at People's Park in Detroit Lakes in which McClure and two other individuals were involved in the assault of a male victim who sustained a broken jaw, among other injuries, and later required surgery to repair the damage.
