Warrants have been issued in Becker County for the arrest of two Bemidji residents on felony theft charges.
Donald Duane Armstrong Jr., 24, and Erica Lynn Busse, are being sought in connection with an Oct. 6 incident at Walmart in Detroit Lakes.
According to the criminal complaint, the couple entered the store and proceeded to fill up a blue tote with compact discs, speakers, Playstation 3 games and other items, then left through an emergency exit without paying for the items, got into a pickup truck and drove away at high speed.
A state trooper spotted the pickup and attempted to initiate a traffic stop; a high-speed chase ensued that continued into Mahnomen and Clearwater counties.
Eventually, the pickup overturned, and law enforcement officers discovered the stolen items inside.

Video surveillance tapes identified Armstrong and Busse as the people who had entered the store and stole the items, which had an estimated value of $1,800.
