Washington Avenue closing Monday to work on sewer lines

Washington Avenue between Front Street and Highway 10, and Pioneer Street (north of the Greystone building) will close at 7 a.m. on Monday to allow crews to work on sanitary sewer lines below the roadway. Motorists should use Summit Avenue, Lake Avenue or McKinley Avenue to Holmes Street to access downtown businesses. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the day Monday, weather permitting.

Highway 10 mainline

The following Highway 10 mainline work will take place in various places along the highway, unless otherwise noted. Motorists should be aware that crews will be working in many areas beside the roadway.

Permanent pavement marking continues this week. Some pavement grinding work is scheduled to begin at the end of the week.

Motorists can expect a few lane closures along Highway 10 on Monday and Tuesday this week as crews finish up some median work.

Crews continue to install permanent signing this week, and should finish by the end of the week.

Crews continue work at the Depot, inside and outside of the building. The Park 'n Ride lot is open.

Sidewalk, electric, top soiling and landscaping work in various areas throughout the project continue this week.

Crews are tentatively scheduled to begin replacing some sections of curb and gutter on eastbound Highway 10 this week.

Frontage road

The following frontage road work will take place in various places along the frontage road, unless otherwise noted. Motorists should be aware that crews will be working in many areas beside the roadway.

Finishing work and top soiling work continue this week.

Paving crews will finish up some miscellaneous paving along the frontage road on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, including driveways and accesses.

Permanent signing installation continues this week, and should be completed by the end of the week.

Permanent pavement marking continues this week.

The frontage road between North Shore Drive and East Shore Drive is closed to motorists, bicycles and pedestrians, and will remain closed into the month of October. Crews are finishing the boat landing, overlook area and two retaining walls between the frontage road and Big Detroit Lake, and paving the new bike path and frontage road. Motorists should use Highway 10 to get around this area of the lake.

The next Highway 10 project update/public meeting for this construction season will be held Monday, Oct. 13, beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes City Hall.
