Michael Wayne Stevens, 25, of 1402 Central Ave. N., Waubun has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony third-degree burglary.

According to court records, on Feb. 13 he burglarized a home under construction on 210th Avenue, making off with more than $3,000 worth of items, including tools, a stereo, lights and door knobs.

He returned some of the items that day to Menard's, which gave him store credit that he used to buy food items.

He has other cases pending, including two counts of domestic assault, first-degree criminal damage to property, third-degree criminal damage to property, contempt of court, theft of a motor vehicle and disorderly conduct. He was convicted of assault in 2005.

He appeared Wednesday before District Judge Joe Evans, who sentenced him to 15 months in prison, execution of sentence stayed five years. He was placed on supervised probation for five years, and ordered to serve 120 days in jail, with credit for 75 days served.

He was fined $1,000 plus court fees and ordered to pay restitution of $2,159 to the victim, Larry Knutson, $1,502 to State Farm Insurance and $1,806 to Foremost Insurance.

He can do STS work towards the fine.
