Waubun man sustains injury after falling off snowmobile

A 41-year-old Waubun man was transported to the Detroit Lakes hospital with a possible broken collarbone, following a snowmobile accident Monday night.

A 41-year-old Waubun man was transported to the Detroit Lakes hospital with a possible broken collarbone, following a snowmobile accident Monday night.

Ronald Richard Hazelton was a passenger on a snowmobile driven by 19-year-old William Joseph Hunt, of Twin Valley, when he fell off and sustained the injury.

According to the Becker County Sheriff's Office, Hunt was not injured in the accident that was reported at 6:27 p.m. at the 28000 block of 374th Street in Waubun.

The two friends were working on the snowmobile, test driving it and then making sharp turns, causing Hazelton to fall off, according to authorities. He was transported to Essentia Health St. Mary's.
