A White Earth man required to register as a predatory offender was sentenced after being convicted of two felonies for violating the predatory offender registration requirements.
Ronald Wayne Elias Thompson, 31, was sentenced to 24 months in prison, stayed for seven years.
He will instead serve one year in jail with 129 days credit for time served.
According to the complaint filed with Becker County District Court, Thompson was charged with kidnapping and several other charges in June of 2008. He was convicted of third-degree assault from that incident and ordered to register as a predatory offender for life.
In November of 2013 he gave authorities his address in White Earth, and did not change or update it.

In January of 2014, officers doing a compliance check on Thompson found he was not staying at the address given, but according to witnesses, had been “bouncing” from house to house in Naytahwaush.
Thompson was arrested and convicted of the charges in July. In addition to jail time, he was also fined $1,000.
