A 21-year-old West Fargo man was shot in the arm early Saturday as he arrived home.

According to police:

The man arrived at his home in the 600 block of Second Avenue East and was exiting his vehicle when he was struck in the arm near the elbow at 2 a.m.

A 30-year-old man, who lives at 637 2nd Ave. E., had been handling an AR-15 rifle in his living room when the gun discharged, according to officers investigating the shooting.

The bullet went through a living room window and hit the victim, who was taken by ambulance to Fargo's Sanford Medical Center.

The victim was treated and released from the hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.
