A safety training course will be held at the Detroit Lakes M State college campus on Nov. 29 and Dec. 11.
It is sponsored by the Ultra Snowmobile Club and the Minnesota DNR.
Registration is $10 and that includes pizza and beverage at noon on Dec. 11. Classes are Monday, Nov. 29, from 6-8:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 11, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
At the Monday night class, registration is from 6-6:30 p.m., followed by the program from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the M State Conference Center. Presenters include city law enforcement, county law enforcement, DNR Conservation Officer Joel Matter and members of the Ultra Club.
The Saturday class is at 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes review of safety information, snowmobile machine review and driving test (snowmobiles provided by Seaberg's and Okeson Offtrail Sales). Helmets and winter clothing will be needed. There will also be a written test and review.
