Becker County remains open for services, and in light of the recent increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases, this is a reminder to contact your county public health department at 218- 847-5628 if you would like to know what you should do and where you can get help if you are quarantining.

As of Thursday, Oct. 15, Becker County has 93 active COVID-19 cases.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health weekly update on Oct. 15, there have been 15,331 laboratory tests administered to Becker County residents.

The percentage of positive tests for Becker County is 2.3%, compared to a 5.2% positivity rate state-wide.

“Social distancing, good personal hygiene and wearing of a mask has a proven effect to reduce the spread,” Becker County Public Health Supervisor Kristin Bausman said in a news release.

With the recent increase in numbers, the County Health Department encourages residents to renew their efforts in preventing the spread of the virus by following these measures:

• Practice social distancing

• Wash your hands regularly

• Wear a mask to protect others

• If you do not feel well, stay home

• Get tested if experiencing any COVID symptoms
