Essentia Health is hosting an advance care planning (ACP) class from 9–10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 11.
Advance care planning is a process that helps people think and talk about their choices for health care in the future. It’s important for every adult to have an advance directive, also known as a living will or health care directive.
Everyone is invited to join in conversation to discover the value of ACP, reflect on their values, choose a health care agent, explore goals for treatment and take steps toward completing a personal health care directive. By having these conversations proactively, people can ensure their preferences are understood if they become unable to make medical decisions for themselves due to an accident, injury or sudden illness.
The class is being offered virtually. Register on Essentia's website .
