The Detroit Lakes wrestling team improved to 3-0 in duals Tuesday night after a 46-12 victory over United Clay Becker at Ralph Anderson Gymnasium.

The Lakers broke out to a 13-0 lead behind an 11-0 major decision by Cade Jackson at 106-pounds, Clint Andresen’s 12-8 decision at 113 and Brody Ullyott pinned Nathan Sperr at 3:33 in the 120-pound match.

Garrett Peterson got the Badgers on the board with a 5-1 decision over Blaine Henderson at 126. UCB had three wins on the night. Wyatt Dunham pinned Charles Barnett at 1:46 in the heavyweight match. DL’s Jordan Skadsem put up a strong fight against No. 3AA Sam Wamre taking the Badger team leader the distance in a 12-7 Wamre decision.

DL’s Blake Weber outlasted Sam Helgeson in the 132-pound match 14-11 to give DL a 16-3 lead.

Payton Jackson, Fabyon Greer and Brennen Sather salted the match away with consecutive pins.

Greer made quick work of Jacob Beaudine-Schlick needing only 50 seconds at 145. Jackson and Sather finished off their matches with falls in the second period.

The match was out of reach for UCB trailing 34-3 heading to a pair of double forfeits and Badger forfeits to No. 9AA Isaiah Thompson and Noah Olds.

DL continues to await the return of No. 1AA 145-pounder Braydon Ortloff who began the season injured.

The Lakers are in action before the holiday break on Thursday, Dec. 21 at a triangular with Pierz and Mora.
