DL woman accused of spending up man's medical card
Wendy Kay Olson, 48, of Detroit Lakes has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony financial transaction card fraud.
According to court records, on Jan. 8 a man reported to police in Detroit Lakes that his health savings card had been stolen and most of the funds ($446) had been spent. He told officers that be believed Olson took it from his wallet while he was staying at her apartment. The card had been used like a credit card at fast food restaurants and retail stores in September and November and only $1.87 remained. The man denied he ever gave Olson permission to use the card.
On Jan. 12 District Judge Gretchen Thilmony issued a summons for Olson to appear in court Jan. 29.
