Allen Lee Hamm Jr., 41, of Detroit Lakes has had a felony charge of nonsupport dismissed in Becker County District Court after meeting the conditions required by the court.
According to court records, he had failed to pay child support since Dec. 8, 2015, and owed a total of $35,615 outstanding. He was first ordered to pay $452 a month in child support in 2001, along with $261 a month for child care and $50 a month in medical support, as well as reimbursement totaling $1,942.
His child support payment amount was reduced in 2011 to $500 a month, and was reduced again in 2015 to $334 a month.
He has met court conditions laid down on Feb. 2, 2017 requiring him to continue child support payments as agreed and remain current with his child support obligations. He was placed on supervised probation for two years.
On Jan. 18, the charge was dismissed because the court conditions had been met.
On Jan. 9, District Judge Gretchen Thilmony stayed adjudication and continued the case. Johnson was ordered to pay child support of $441 a month starting Feb. 1. He was ordered to serve 23 days in jail, with credit for 23 days served. He must pay a $500 fine and $585 in court fees, get a chemical dependency evaluation, and follow the recommendations.
