Perham man gets nearly 5 years for felony DWI
Phillip Ray Clow Jr., 37, of Perham has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony DWI.
A second felony DWI count was dropped in a plea agreement.
According to court records, at 7:52 p.m. on July 18 a Frazee police officer responded to the scene of a crash in Frazee. He found an older black pickup truck on a lawn resting against a John Deere lawn tractor.
Several people at the scene identified Clow as the driver of the pickup truck, which belonged to his mother. Clow was unsteady on his feet and smelled of alcohol. An hour later at the jail, his blood alcohol level tested at .23 percent, nearly three times the legal limit.
He was previously convicted of felony DWI in 2013 in Becker County.
Clow appeared in court Feb. 7 before District Judge Gretchen Thilmony, who sentenced him to 57 months in prison at St. Cloud. He was ordered to pay $4,000 in restitution, as well as $215 in court fees and a $50 fine.
