Craig M. Yocom

Craig M. Yocom, 68, of Shoreline, WA passed away April 2, 2019 under the care of Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham, WA. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Craig Monroe Yocom was born April 18, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN to Vernon and Marion (Tarnstrom) Yocom. He graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1969. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota, Morris. His career as a psychiatric nurse began in 1978 at Harbor View Hospital in Seattle, WA and continued until his retirement in 2017.

Craig's lifelong passion was music; he hand crafted and played multiple stringed instruments. What set him apart was his singing. He sang at weddings and at various Jazz clubs in the Seattle area. Craig enjoyed the outdoors with his family and friends, playing basketball, and had a passion for cooking.

Craig is survived by his wife Kristi Anderson of 36 years and two adult children, Greta Yocom and Cyrus Yocom. Siblings: Kathryn (Mike) Dittmar, Maple Grove, MN; Ann (Thomas) Seim, Detroit Lakes, MN; Daniel (Joy Wheeler) Yocom, Detroit Lakes, MN; Thomas (Cindi) Yocom, Matthews, NC; Jonathan (Natalee) Yocom, Detroit Lakes, MN; Joseph (Amy) Yocom, Matthews, NC; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
