Karol K. Carlson

Karol K. Carlson, age 84 of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 16, 2020 under the care of hospice.

Karol was born on August 22, 1936 in Moorhead, MN, to the late Benjamin and Magna (Westerlund) Kimm.

She was united marriage to Charles Carlson, her high school sweetheart, on June 29, 1954 at Faith Lutheran Church. They had two children, Dan and Mary.

Karol was a piano teacher for many years in Detroit Lakes until retirement. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. Her hobbies were quilting, music, gardening, and reading.

Karol is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Dan of Minot, ND and Mary (Tim) Hager of Burnsville, MN. She adored her grandchildren, Kevin, Karen and Kay Hager. Karol is also survived by her sister, Mary Olsgaard; sisters-in-law, Loureigne Kimm and Loretta Carlson; brothers-in-law, Bob (Ruth) Carlson, and Gary (Marlys) Carlson and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank; brothers-in-law, Charles Olsgaard and Ray Carlson, sister-in-law, Dianne Kimm, and great grandchild, Avery Czech.

A Memorial Service was held on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes.
