Dennis Jerome Anderson was born on July 7, 1935 in Spruce Grove Township, Becker County to Jens A. Anderson and Marian S. (Hanson) Anderson. He attended school and then began farming with his father. He met his lifelong love, Rosemari Aken in 1953. At this time Dennis enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard where he served from 1953-1961. Dennis and Rosie were married on Sept. 22, 1956 and continued farming in Spruce Grove. There were 4 children from this union. He continued farming with his son John until he retired in 2000. Dennis enjoyed the simple things in life - hunting, fishing, camping and traveling along with socializing with family and friends. He was very active in his community and profession. He served on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association, he was a lifelong and Charter member of the Wolf Lake Lions Club where he earned one of their highest honors as a Melvin Jones Fellow. He was an active and lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church where he served many years on the church council. Dennis was a beloved son, husband, father and friend. He never said no when anyone needed help and often offered help before it was needed. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving him is his sister, Bev Trimble and a brother Darwin (Doc) Anderson, his 4 children Darrell (Maureen) of Detroit Lakes, John of Detroit Lakes, Bruce (Mary) of rural Barnesville, and Kristi (Steve) Amell of rural Detroit Lakes. Also 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his loving wife Rosie, his sister Shirley, his parents Jens and Marian, brothers-in-law Marvin Anderson and Ernie Trimble, and nephew Lance Anderson.
